I envy them, this I admit unabashedly. Their capacity to take on the world and all its complexities with unflagging courage, intermingled with the blessed gift of lingering innocence. I have become so afraid of the world and so dispassionate of life, and I catch the same traces of indifference in places, faces, people. I think it’s so easy to forget the beauty of the good when the earth is abound with so much tragedy and tribulation. But there is still life. We just need to remember how to live it once more.
