The poem is about the mind of an escapist, who wishes to find an escape from the fantasy of her own thoughts, by believing and making things happen for herself, hoping and trying to make her dreams of traveling and discovering new places, a reality.
“I want to travel”, a phrase too common in our lives. It is an exciting experience, usually a bold decision that comes with risk-taking and uncertain outcomes. But we all still want to go through it, don’t we?
Everyone’s got to have his or her own favourite genre of movies, or at least, a personal list of top movies. As I look at mine, I realized that most of them fall under the same category: Adventure. Judging by the success of such movies like Thor and The Hunger Games, I know that I am not alone. Here are some of the reasons of what makes an adventure movie so great.
'Larger than Life' - a person that exuberate greatness as though he was taken right out of a book or even a movie, the people that seem so unbelievable perfect. Those that have all the qualities we would want in ourselves, so that we could be as perfect as them.
These are the portraits of perfect people we paint in our minds. We spend a portion of our lives finding and thinking about them, subconsciously perhaps.
“The Flowers of War” remains as one of the most alluring and moving film I have watched. This movie, depicting the second Sino-Japanese War, angles its story plot differently from war documentary films.
Life gets pretty unpredictable sometimes. People say that good things happen to good people but yet, those are the ones that continue waiting for it. People say that karma bites, yet those people seem to escape it all the time. It is such a contradiction, and I don’t understand any of it. But what I know is this: maybe what you want isn’t always what you need. Maybe everything happens for a reason. Maybe after the end of it all, you will realize that you would not change anything that happened before. Maybe.
Before and After: a process of transformation, a process of change. Like it or not, most people do change over a certain period of time, most for the better. The process is never easy. Obstacles are always there to pull you down, to test you, and to push you to your limits. But at the end of day, the things you have gone through changes you, slowly but surely.
I bought an eReader. Now before all you book lovers out there come chasing me with a sledgehammer and calling me a traitor for succumbing to a chuck of plastic to read on, let me explain, and try to change your mind while I'm at it.
