Being a 90’s kid, there were numerous television shows that I loved watching and I would remember rushing home after school just to catch them. Disney Channel was definitely one of my go-to channels.
Even Stevens: This TV production screened from 1999 to 2003 and has three seasons followed by The Even Stevens Movie (2003), which marked the end of the whole TV series.  Featuring Shia LaBeouf as Louis Stevens and Christy Carlson Romano as Renee Stevens, the show evolved around the lives of Louis and his older sister Renee, who are always at bicker heads. Not forgetting their older brother, Don Stevens (Nick Spano) who was a popular kid in school but just not that intelligent. Most of us would remember Shia LaBeouf as the Even Stevens Guy in his breakout movie Transformers, where he became cool and masculine all of a sudden. Nevertheless, he will always have that annoying little brother image in my heart, because Even Stevens was when it all started.

Lizzie McGuire: The Lizzie McGuire TV series had two seasons running from 2001 to 2004. What made this show special was the animated Lizzie (Hilary Duff) we would see from time to time, voicing out Lizzie’s inner thoughts. With the support from her two best friends, Miranda (Lalaine) and Gordo (Adam Lamberg), Lizzie is able to survive her junior high years despite being taunted by Kate (Ashlie Brillault), yes, that mean girl in school. Moreover, back home, Lizzie has to face the constant mischiefs from her younger brother, Matt (Jake Thomas). The Lizzie McGuire Movie was practically every pre-teen girl’s dream come true when we witnessed how Lizzie achieved her dreams of becoming a pop star. When there is a pre-teen girl involved, there is ought to be puppy love. Sadly, Lizzie didn’t end up with Ethan (Clayton Snyder), the huge crush she had in Junior High, but ends up kissing Gordo at their hotel balcony which overlooks the splendid night view of Rome. I can never forget that heartwarming scene, which will also be the last impression I have of this whole TV series. It will definitely remain but a fantasy, and the life we all secretly want deep down in our hearts. To top it all off, Disney movies had to finish off with fireworks, telling us that “Dreams Do Come True”, just like in any other fairytales.

These TV shows do not have the most original storylines and most of their outcomes are expected. However, I never got bored watching the same episodes. I guess that’s because they reflect the happiest moments of my childhood and they have already become a part of me as I grow.
