True friends does make life a tinge more colourful and their company never fails to turn our frowns upside down. They give you that safety blanket when you’re in need for comfort, but what would you do if the blanket starts to disappear bit by bit?

"Friendship" is a mild word for such an extraordinary and holy connection, for what can be the most sustaining, life-giving, death-defying relationships some of us will ever experience.  - Anne Lamott
Life starts to change, leaving that empty space in life, where it was once filled with a friend and a friendship that we thought would last.
Broken Buds

A time not too long ago,
We were close,
At least that’s what I thought,
We laughed and we shared,
And I thought we had it there.

We went on random escapades,
All smiles, always great.
Your fine heart
never fails to care, I’d like to think
you were always there.

I never knew your thoughts,
I was too shy to ask.
Time passed by
How did we drift apart
You were no more there

Broken pieces left
But memories, intact
Thanks for your time,
Thanks for your laughter
Thanks for the memories

Before you go,
I just wanted to say
That your presence
I treasure,
Your spirit, I admire

I hope you’re doing well, bud
But I wish we’d never be broken buds
